Timo Mullen, best know for his incredible wave riding, is taking up a challenge this weekend in aid of a very, very worthy cause.
“I just wanted to let everyone know I’m competing in my first triathlon this Sunday.
The event is organised by Formula1 driver Jenson Button, the event is for charity and my fundraising efforts are going to be in aid for Help for Heroes.
I chose Help for Heroes as my windsurfing friend, Craig Wood, lost both his legs and his arm whilst serving in Afghanastan, It’s a pretty bad thing to have happened, but even worse if your passion in life is windsurfing! To cut a very long story of Craig’s fight to get his life back on track short, Help for Heroes have literally got Craig back on his ‘new’ feet again and he is now one of the countries top paralympic sailors in the dinghy class, maybe not the windsurfing he loves but back on the water, that’s the main thing!
Help for Heroes also arranged for Craig to fly to Hawaii and windsurf with his windsurfing hero Robby Naish!
Anyway if you can spare £1 to donate to my fundraising, that will help others just like Craig.
I’ve been training hard every morning and evening so fingers crossed I won’t make too much of a fool of myself come Sunday!
Thank for your support! http://www.justgiving.com/timo-mullen”
