Back to back UKWA Freestyle Events, Worthing and Herne Bay.
Less than two weeks before the first one, the dates should be in your diaries by now but just to remind you they are 26th-27th May and 2nd-3rd June.
Worthing
Last year the combined Slalom and Freestyle Event was held in August, usually the worst time of the year for wind but we still got enough for a result.
This year the earlier dates should work much better with the world famous “Worthing Sea Breeze Effect”. Definitely don’t miss this one, there’s a great chance of seeing terrific Freestyle, whether you’re competing or spectating.
Herne Bay
Herne Bay is a new venue to us but it’s not very far from Minnis Bay, which produced some excellent conditions at around the same time last year.
Freestyle is being run for two days alongside the UKWA Course Racing and North Sea Cup three day event. For your Satnav the address and postcode is Herne Bay Sailing Club, Beacon Hill, Herne Bay, Kent, CT6 6BA
Special Announcement
At both of the above if there is no wind we will be running the new and absolutely amazing “UK Tow In Tour” as usual.
Unfortunately, the cancellation of Bonaire and Aruba leaves the World Tour a bit short of Freestyle so the UKWA will be pleased to welcome foreign entrants to these and all future events for both regular as well as Tow In Freestyle competition.
If you know any foreign sailors please publicise this to them.
