The Winter Windsurf European Cup 2011 introduce their first event of the season in Lithuania…
The up-coming weekend is expected to be interesting for those who are going to Kaunas Sailing Club to watch or participate in Winter Windsurf European Cup (WWEC) 2011 first event.
There were 5 events held previous season; all of them in Slalom discipline. For course racing it was either not possible to mark a normal track or the wind was not strong enough. Last year’s European Cup in Slalom discipline went to Latvian racer Aleksandrs Leontjevs. This season we hope to arrange both Slalom and Course Race to find out who is going to be the new European Cup holder.
Current conditions in Kaunas: perfectly clean ice.
Forecast: Few days melting temperatures, then going into negative temperatures with some snow.
The Winter Windsurfing European Cup is organized by Public Organization “Ekstremalus Sportas” (http://www.Extreme-Sports.lt ) in cooperation with Winterwindsurf.com
This year it is expected at least three WWEC2011 events. One more in Estonia, Haapsalu, and another one in Finland, Saimaa, which will be held right before WISSA (ice and snow sailing world championship) 2011 – an event for a week. 10 days, 7 sports, over 100 competitors.
