The UK must be one of the best countries in the world to get people into windsurfing!

Ok it hasn’t got the balmy waters of the Mediterranean or the eternal sunshine of the tropics, but it does have a lot going for it.

We have fantastically equipped centres all over the UK, whose instructors are not just highly trained but also incredibly enthusiastic. They can help anyone of any age get into this fantastic sport. To find out where your nearest centre is just click here.

But if it is that sunshine you need, then there are plenty of great instructors posted overseas with companies such as Neilson.

However, quite often that spark to start windsurfing doesn’t come from a random desire within but from the infectious enthusiasm of meeting an already avid windsurfer. At this stage we quite often point them in the direction of our local school, centre or shop, but our duty doesn’t end there. We have sold them into this sport, so we should know how they are best going to get hooked as quickly as possible.

This 5 part series looks at helping us get others into the sport.
