Molokai Challenge, Hawaii
A race for charity is how the Molokai Challenge will run for 2008. The date: Saturday 30th August 2008. The location is to be determined. At this point, somewhere along the Ka’anapali Shoreline, to Napili on Maui, Hawaii to finish up on Molokai, Hawaii. OPEN TO ALL NON MOTORIZED OCEAN CRAFT, a challenge of endurance, strength and stamina. Why do we call it a challenge? A name that has been adopted over the years but ultimately the event is to challenge the individuals and teams in creating awareness to the Youth about the wonderful opportunities that are presented to the next generation. This event is just the one of many different future events that can highlight opportunities for the youth.
Youth In Motion’s ultimate goal is to bring youth and adults together to participate in this race with the message of YIM’s mission statement and to encourage the youth to take charge of a destiny filled with positive opportunities. No matter what club or association that any individual, adult or youth may belong to, Youth In Motion’s goal is to help with the strengthening of those organizations through events such as this to help raise the level of awareness that can present opportunities to not just the local community but throughout the world as we celebrate a “Celebration of Youth Opportunities”.
This years event will be based on team participation and each team will need to form their own rescue and submit the details to Clare Mawae. One week prior the departure location will be announced to those that have formed and registered their teams.
For more information please contact Clare Seeger Mawae preferably by email: [email protected] or call 808-336-0946 or 808-553 4227 in how to participate and or contribute to the event.
