“Weather forecast pushes the Aloha Classic back” November 5, 2004

Paia, HI — With the pending return of the trade winds and swell on Tuesday
the organizing committee has decided to push the Aloha Classic Wave
Championships back a day and start the competition on Tuesday, November 9.
Competition will continue through till Thursday, which is a holiday for Maui
and will surely garner the most spectators. There will be no competition on
Monday. Friday is available to the organizers if needed to get a result.
Although the competition schedule has slipped the party schedule is still on
tap with the registration party set for Sunday, November 7, at Charlies
Restaurant in Paia, Monday, November 8, at Jacques Bistro, Tuesday,
November 9 at The Sandbar, Wednesday, November 10, at The Ale House, and on
the awards planned for Thursday, November 11 at The Sandbar.
With the growing forecast as the week progresses, the competition divisions
are going to be run as follows: Tues: Kids, Grand Masters; Wed: Juniors,
Masters, Open; and Thurs: Open. This schedule should provide the best
conditions for each divisions level.
