It’s been 2 years in the making but Peter Hart’s new book, WINDSURFING, is written, edited and bound and set for release early in the New Year.
With over 200 pages and 250 photographs and illustrations, it’s something of an encyclopaedia.
It kicks off with chapters on choosing and tuning equipment and how to get started. The early part of the book is devoted to the key techniques such as harness and footstrap work and adjusting your stance to handle more power. There’s a complete section on waterstarting and moving to a smaller board. There are then detailed chapters on (inevitably) the carve gybe, duck gybe, fast tack and all the classic high wind carving manoeuvres. It then finishes with chapters on sea sailing, freestyle, wave sailing and windsurfing competitions.
Clear diagrams and stunning sequence photography combined with Peter’s fresh, lucid and ever humorous style make WINDSURFING the improving windsurfer’s indispensable companion.
WINDSURFING will retail at £14.99 and be available though bookshops, selected windsurfing stores, Crowood Press (www.crowood.com), and BOARDS online shop soon.
