COMPETITORS SELECTED FOR POOLE AUDI HEX-TREME

Competitors selected to take up the Poole Audi Hex-treme challenge!
Hundreds of entry forms have been received for this year’s Poole Audi Hex-treme
event and the entrant selection process is near completion. Event organisers and
sponsors deliberated over the high standard of entries and thirty competitors
for the men’s competition have now been selected. There are currently further
positions available for the women’s competition.

On Sunday 7th September the chosen competitors, a mix of both local and national
athletes, will participate in one of the UK’s most innovative and challenging
sporting events to illustrate their vast experience in triathlons, biathlons,
and the London Marathon.

At this one-day Poole Tourism event, based across Poole’s Sandbanks beach,
entrants will compete in the six disciplines of cycling, swimming, kayaking,
sailing, windsurfing, and running, and will gain aggregate scores across these
sporting activities. The successful entrants all have years of competitive experience
and many are instructors in one of the sports featured. The reigning champion
of two years, Richard Vail, will once again attempt to claim the top position.
New competitors include Richard’s sister, Tisha Vail, from Finsbury Park in
London, who will compete for the first time in the new women’s competition,
and husband and wife, Lisa and Giles Durward, from Ringwood.

Gary Willingham, event organiser for Poole Tourism, says; "Poole Audi
Hex-treme is proving exceptionally popular as the entries we have received have
been of an extremely high standard and it was difficult to judge when the level
of entry was so good. The entry deadline for the women’s race has been extended
as there are still some positions available."

Gary adds; "Competitors are now busy training in anticipation of the event
and we expect an exciting competition which will be great for spectators to
watch. We hope everyone will come to the event and cheer for their favourite
competitor".

With a prize fund which includes £1300, Poole Audi trophies, Fitness
First annual memberships, and Cotswold Outdoor vouchers, Poole Audi Hex-treme
2003 will be a tough competition.

Entry forms for the women’s race are available from Liz Lean PR, Poole Tourism,
or downloadable from www.pooletourism.com/hextreme.
