UKWA SLALOM, HAYLING ISLAND
The forecast is perfect for this weekend’s UKWA Slalom racing at the Inn on the Beach, Hayling Island.
In the Pro Fleet, rumour has it that Guy Cribb is limbering up and tuning his sails even as we speak and that Alan ‘all action’ Jackson is already champing at the bit. Alan has been on a diet of just raw steak and Irn-Bru (made from girders) and is keen to kick some more ‘Sassenach’ butt this weekend, especially Cribby’s.
With the dearth of wind recently Xavier Ferlet has been prowling around like a caged tiger, straining at the leash to get out and do battle. Dan Simpson is keen to mix it with the big boys and to retain his British Slalom Youth Title before he heads off to spend the winter in Brazil.
Will Adrian Wallis or Ed Strange clean up in the Challenge fleet again this time or will some local hot shots, spurred on by a good forecast, come and show their class? Come and show Krafty a clean pair of heels and he is sure to buy you a beer or two.
There will be Masterblaster / Off the Beach racing for recreational enthusiasts. Come and join in, it is awesome!
The F2 Speedgun Challenge will be running and is sure to be fiercely contested once again. You are just one fast run away from stardom!
A Boards Magazine reporter will be on hand to capture the action and also to find a worthy recipient for the magnificent ‘Hugh Jarse’ Trophy.
See you at Hayling Island. More from http://ukwindsurfing.com/events/2007/114
