A Boards Winner – K4 Rockets Hit The Water

Last month Boards and K4 fins ran a competition to win a brand new set of K4 Rockets, now we hear from one of the winners, Anthony Irwin, who has already taken his Rockets for a spin in the recent great British storms!

“Firstly, I was so pleased to win after being off the water for 2 months, from damaging the tendons in my left hand after sailing at Hunstanton; the crazy thing is don’t know how I did it.

“So, it was great boost to win and get back on the water! Being that this was my fist time back on the water, I diced to play it safe and go a quick run at Rutland, although it was a little cold it was well worth it as I took out my 4.0 and 92 thruster with the 13MT and 16.5US Rockets.

“The first thing you notice, as per the name, is that they go like a Rocket; it’s crazy! I have also got a set of K4 Stubbys which are great but the Rockets are a lot faster to get going and have great top end.

“Turning takes a bit of time to get used to, compared to the Stubbys, which have that extra forgiving flexibility. But after a few turns I was all sorted and they provided a great snap in the sharp turns, I also found them good for a bit of freestyle even though I was a bit rusty after two months off the water.

“Overall a great set of fins for bump and jump or just blasting around on flat days. Thanks again!”
