PWA Pozo – Team GB

The PWA wave tour will kick off in style on the 12th July, with the world’s best wavesailors gathering on Pozo beach in Gran Canaria to do battle.

PWA Pozo – Team GB… are they ready?!?

As a British based windsurfing magazine of course we will rooting for our homegrown talent. Here’s a run down of who is and isn’t heading to represent GB at PWA Pozo.

Who’s Going?

Check out the full profiles, words from the riders, their equipment set-ups and more by clicking on their names to the right.

As well as the British born riders there are a few more we’ve adopted along the way, that we will be cheering for. Both Justyna Sniady and Amanda Beenen have come across to the UK to take part in recent BWA events and shown they’ve got the skills to take top finishes at the PWA too, good luck ladies! Plus there could well be a Brit or two hoping to make it through the trials, more info to come soon!

Who’s Not Going?

There are a few British names absent from the line-up this year.  Phil Horrocks is taking this year to concentrate on fatherhood and the British tour, so won’t be competing in the Canaries. However, he has said he would be tempted onto the tour of the PWA event planned for Chile goes ahead! The busiest man in windsurfing, Ross Williams also won’t be in the Canaries, probably because he is currently doing 501 things, at once. After a slow recovery from injury last year Jamie Hancock has chosen to head across to America on a road trip rather than taking on the PWA just yet. We hope you three will all be back on the tour soon!
