The PWA Cold Hawaii came to a dramatic close, with sailing into the night yesterday. In bolt onshore winds the top PWA riders battled through on the final possible day of competition, and as always Cold Hawaii threw up some upsets.
Here’s the Boards top 5 highlights from cold hawaii:
1.Thomas Traversa pulling of the most incredible fronside aerial, almost impossible in onshore conditions (and then of course winning the whole contest).
2. Victor Fernandez cementing his world tour lead with yet another podium finish, showing he is one of the best in almost all conditions.
3. Leon Jamaer making it through the trials and going on to beat Philip Koster.
4. Robby Swift making his first PWA wave podium and celebrating in style.
5. Realising just how dark it was when the competition ended. Bolt onshore and so dark you can barely see the waves… not ideal conditions, but it certainly sorted the men from the boys.
