The Flisvos Sportclub provides a unique combination between a perfect flat-water spot in a shallow lagoon and a challenging wave spot. Here we are operating two water sport centres just five minutes walk distance from each other:
1. The Flisvos Centre
From the marbled courtyard of the Flisvos Surf Centre you reach the wave area situated directly next to our Beach Café. When the wind blows with wind force 4 to 5 Bft, this spot is ideal for slalom and freestyle sailing. With more wind this spot becomes the playground for wave freaks and certainly is one of the best wave spots in Greece. The waves are between 1 and 2.5 meters high, allowing radical jumps and wave riding. From the wave spot you can reach the flat-water spot in the lagoon within five minutes of downwind sailing, where you can practice your freestyle moves or go speeding.
2. The Lagoon Centre
The Lagoon windsurfing and catamaran centre is situated 400 meters away from the Flisvos Centre and can be reached in a five minutes walk along the beach. The lagoon is a shallow flat-water spot. It is ideal for beginners in order to learn windsurfing and for intermediate windsurfers in order to achieve a fast progress. The lagoon is a perfect place to enjoy speed sailing in flat-water conditions and to practise power jibes and freestyle moves. Advanced windsurfers can easily access the wave area by passing the reef through a marked passage.
3. Mikri Vigla Surfcenter
You are able to surf straight out into the turquoise clear water of Mikri Viglas Bay, past the 800m offshore little stony island with its traditional white chapel, towards Paros in the distance. This spot allows kiting and windsurfing, as kitesurfing is prohibited along Agios Georgios Beach because of the neighbouring airport. With a little luck you will sight a turtle elegantly floating past, while you are enjoying your ride.
