When I’m looking for local sailing I use windguru, for a quick heads up on the next 5-7 days.
I actually have a list of favourites all on my wind guru home page (below):
I have a bunch on there so I can see what’s going on elsewhere too, nice to know who’s scoring it!
If it looks good and I want to find out more I tend to go to xc-weather to double check and also get an idea on the cloud/rain and temperature in the winter. same with the magic seaweed wind map.
If I’m looking at UK trips then it’s the magic seaweed swell map followed by the maw wind map again, chasing swell tends to be the reason to go on a tip so thats high up the list on forecast checking.
When it’s been a few weeks without wind I sucked towards the weather online expert charts, the long range 14 days or whatever it is!! Looking for hope in the distant future, it rarely comes through as predicted that far out but it’s fun looking…
