KEEP IT CLEAN – One common cause of a slow rig up, as Adam Lewis proved, is dirty gear so make sure you keep the mast, boom and extension clean. Of all your equipment these adjustable parts are definitely the most important bit to keep dirt, sand and salt free. A simple way to do this is to make sure you don’t push the mast base into the sand/dirt and check the mast join every time you connect it. With the boom as well, if there is any resistance then it’s a good idea to separate and clean it.
