Turfdog – How To Improve Your Moves On Land

Gybe

How to Turfdog gybe with Phil Richards and Danielle Lucas at www.getwindsurfing.com

1. On a beam reach. Place the back-hand further down the boom and move the rear foot form the footstrap.

2. Apply pressure to the board by bending the back leg – carving the board. Also lean the rig over by extending the front hand and sheeting in with the rear hand whilst bending the knees and dropping low – bending the rear leg. As the carve progresses keep looking in the direction you want to head and then start opening up the sail with the back-hand by extending your rear hand, whilst twisting your hips to the inside.

3. Still keeping you weight forwards and carving though the turn flip the rig by releasing the rear hand. Keep your weight forward of the rig and re-position you rear hand on the boom.

4. Replace your rear hand on the boom and and get comfortable with your weight still forward though your hips.

5. Remove your front foot form the foot strap and replace into new front footstrap position. Place the rear foot in the rear footstrap after this.
