TEAM FAKEFISH ACADEMY FOR UP AND COMING UK SAILORS

Team Fakefish, in association with the travel website Opodo, is introducing an academy where up-and-coming UK windsurfers are invited to join the team on a training trip. After further reviewing the ‘Fakefish trainees” development, potential and commitment there is the possibility of becoming a team member. This year Will Ward was the privileged sailor, joining John Skye, Chris Audsley, Louise Emery and coach Jem Hall on a training trip to Fuerteventura in order to prepare for future competitions. After gaining support from the team to compete in the Spring Ireland UKWA competition will gained a very credible 5th place.

During the recent Fuerte trip Wills moves were consolidated, including most of the freestyle stunts and some very impressive shakas and ponches. The team also helped Will work towards improving his switch foot moves and flakas. After the trip he commented that “It was great to be training in a team situation where so much support was being offered and I really felt both my confidence and performance grow throughout the week.”

Team Fakefish are supporting Will for the 2004 UKWA season. They are also looking to arrange equipment sponsorship for Will – potential sponsors should e-mail [email protected] for more information.
