LUCY GETS WIND IN HER SAILS THANKS TO FAIRCLAIMS
Sussex windsurfer Lucy Robson is getting off to a flying start in her first competitive events thanks to Brighton-based personal injury specialist FairClaims.
Lucy, a 23-year-old trainee solicitor, has recently competed in her first qualifier organised by the UK Windsurfing Association (UKWA) in Hove and is to compete in a further 10 UKWA events this season. She is set to cut a dash with three windsurfing sails sponsored by FairClaims.
“It will be brilliant to take part in my first ever competitions with three brand new sails,” said Lucy who is currently spending six months working in FairClaims’ personal injury department. “I have never competed before and it is wonderful to get so much support at the outset. I am really grateful to FairClaims for giving me such a helping hand with my sporting interests.”
Lucy, who practices off Shoreham five days a week after work, was already a keen surfer when she decided to try her hand at windsurfing while she was travelling through Spain and France last year.
“I was able to go windsurfing every day and I loved it,” she said. “When I returned to the UK to start work I decided to keep it up and now I am going to start taking part in UKWA events. The first is a qualifier and after that I will be competing in open competitions with windsurfers, including professionals, from around the UK.”
Windsurfers use different size sails depending on wind conditions and the sponsorship from FairClaims means Lucy will have the right sails to tackle light or heavy winds.
