EFPT advance to the most important freestyle windsurfing tour world wide
In only three years, the EFPT has evolved into the most popular Freestyle Windsurfing Tour worldwide. There is 255 riders altogether from 31 countries. After only three events there is 60 riders active and until the end of the year 130 are to be expected.
So far, Andre Paskowski (F2/North Sails) from Germany is the leader of the ladder, but competition is strong , and especially Mevissen (JP/NP) from The Netherlands will be putting lots of pressure on him for the European title. However, the Italians, Guazzoni (RRD/Simmer) and Rosati (RRD/NP), are still in the running for leadership too, together with the French riders Thomas Traversa (Tabou/Gaastra) and Antony Ruenes (Tabou / Gaastra) who are still strong and fighting hard. So in overall, it will be a very close race for the title.
Small changes are already expected to happen in Greece this week, where the next three EFPT events will be held.
Freestyle Battle Prasonisi – Pro Center Prasonisi, Christof Kirschner 2nd – 5th June.
Sun Wind Center Paros – Theo Fissilanis 10th – 12th June
Hellas Kalafati Beach Mykonos – Pezi Huber 16th – 19th June
The upcoming events in Belgium, Switzerland and Croatia will attract lots of hot and exciting action too due to the high amount of price money and increased pressure amongst the top riders.
The PWA has yet to confirm one of its few Freestyle events (at Gran Canaria), which will make the IFCA freestyle world championships during the Stimorol Engadinwind in Switzerland, organised by the EFPT and Positive Lines GmbH, even more important for the best windsurfers of the world. The Freestyle Worlds are taking place from august 17 th– 21th 2005 in Silvaplana / St.Moritz Switzerland.
This also means that the EFPT is currently the world biggest and most attractive freestyle tour, a huge achievement in only three years time.
The organisers of the EFPT want to thank all the riders and everyone else who has never given up trust in the EFPT tour.
