The PWA today announced that the Bercy Indoor event will not take place in 2005. Event organizer, Fred Beauchene, stated that the event would no longer take place due to last minute complications with sponsorship.
The Bercy contest was the first of many indoor windsurfing events to have taken place over the last 15 years and led to contests in many other major cities from Marseille and Milan, to Istanbul and Frankfurt.
One of the most successful indoor contests to spring up in the wake of Bercy, is the London PWA Indoor Windsurfing Championships, held annually at the London Boat Show. After a fantastic event in 2005, the organizers of the London Boat Show, in conjunction with the PWA, are pleased to announce that preparations are already well underway for the 2006 event, which promises to be bigger and better, with more wind, more action and more rock and roll than ever before.
