EURO-CUP OEIRAS, PORTUGAL – DAY 2

Windsurfing Euro-Cup Oeiras Lisbon, Portugal

Wojtek Brzozowski continues domination

Oeiras, August 26th 2005. On the second day of the Windsurfing Euro-Cup
Oeiras the thermical wind played the game as the organizers hoped. The sun
was shining perfectly and at 25 to 30 degrees the racers did three more
races in wind speeds between 10 and 15 knots. Wojtek Brzozowski (POL-10,
Starboard, Neil Pryde) from Poland won two of the three races and therefore
extended his lead in the competition. Devon Boulon (ISV-1, F2, Windwing)
presented also a great performance scoring one bullet.

In the first race we saw a spectacular crash on the way to the finish. Devon
was overtaking Wojtek which caused a crash of Wojtek. Devon crossed the
finish line in first position while Gonzalo Costa Hoevel (ARG-3, F2, Neil
Pryde), Alberto Menegatti (ITA-456, F2, Gaastra) and Wilhelm Schurmann
(BRA-999, Starboard, Neil Pryde) took advantage and finished in front of
Wojtek. The double World Champion Micah Buzianis (USA-34, F2, North Sails)
also had a collision with the Silvaplana winner Keith Atkinson (GBR-56,
Starboard, Neil Pryde) in which he destroyed his boom.

Second race Wojtek stroke back and won the race in front of his hardest
opponent Devon Boulon. Last years winner of the EC Oeiras Michael Polanowski
(POL-16, Starboard, Severne) managed to defend the fourth position against
Miguel Martinho (POR-5, Starboard, Neil Pryde) and Jesper Vesterstrom
(DEN-111, Starboard, Neil Pryde).

In the third race Wojtek managed to score another bullet again with Devon on
his heals. This time Jesper finished ahead of Michael and Gonzalo Costa
Hoevel.

After the second day and four races with one discard Wojtek Brozowski is
clearly leading the Windsurfing Euro-Cup Oeiras with three bullets and the
optimum of 2,7 points in front of Devon Boulon with 4,7 points. Gonzalo
Coosta Hoevel is currently in third position with 10,0 points followed by
Jesper Vesterström and Michael Polanowski. But it is only half time in the
competition and there are two more days to go. So nothing is decided yet!

Now the Racers have the chance to relax as again the skippers meeting
tomorrow will be late at 12:00 and the first start is planned for 13:00. The
Windsurfing Euro-Cup Oeiras will finish on Sunday, August 28th! So get ready
