In the “good old days”, windsurfing almost sold itself. It was a fun, healthy sport that you could
take part in on almost any day in most weather conditions. The boards worked well in light winds,
were suitable for taking friends and family to try windsurfing, and most importantly, offered a great
day out for all. As a result, the sport grew quickly.

Today it is a different story the equipment pushed by the industry is aimed at higher winds and
planing. Much of this equipment doesn’t work very well in light winds, and certainly isn’t suitable
for taking friends to try windsurfing.
