Day Four Summary

It was the lightest wind day so far today in Portugal for the 2006 PWA World Cup Guincho Wave Contest. To take a break from the stifling hot beach, we ran to the hills to catch up with adopted local and German transplant Sebastian Wenzel – Fanatic’s long-time shaper and tester. With Guincho’s normally reliable winds and wide range of testing conditions on the doorstep, we look one of the PWA’s oldest corporate members R&D setup on the Estoril coastline. Read the article

Wenzel and all the main forecasts agree that Sunday holds the best chance of contestable conditions, especially given that a new swell is starting to arrive, and stick around until after the contest.

The traditional late in the day show of Guincho’s notorious Nortada wind and the long lasting light of European evenings leave it all wide open, right until the dying seconds. The clock is ticking and the tension building…
