KEITH ATKINSON WINS NATIONAL AT BEWL WATER

Following Keith Atkinson’s win only 2 weeks ago, at the British Open Championship in Christchurch, he was on the water again last weekend at his home club Bewl Valley who were hosting round two of the 2006 UKWA Inland Windsurfing series.

It was a two-day event but with wind forecast only on day one the race officer had to make the most of Saturday and managed a full five Formula races with the last one starting at 5pm.

With moderate but increasingly gusty conditions as day turned to evening, Keith Atkinson completed the event winning outright with four first places.

Keith commented after the event, ‘this was the first time I have competed on ‘fresh water’ using the new Starboard 160 board so it was a bit of an unknown for me, however the board has now proved to be an excellent all rounder, Starboard have got it right yet again’
