UKWA FOUR NATIONS CUP, RHOSNEIGR – DAY 1 hosted by Funsport, supported by O’shea, Fat Face, Clipper Cafe.
DAY ONE
Andy King takes victory ahead of Ben Proffitt in the Expression Session at the Rhosneigr leg of the UKWA Four Nations Cup. Small and infrequent waves meant that no official wave competition could be run today so instead the judges chose to run an expression session for the pros. It was Air Flaka central out on the water as King and Proffit advanced from heat one and Rich Potter and Steve Thorpe advanced from heat two. In the end though it was Kings variety and consistency that saw him come through as the winner using a 6.0m and 100 litre board.
During the light winds earlier in the day Junior fleet sailors Aleksy Gayda and Ben Harper were the first on the water, putting in some practice ahead of the start of junior, youth and amateur fleet competition on Saturday.
The lighter winds also allowed Andy King and John Hibbard to take to the water on their Stand Up Paddle boards for a bit of pre-competition warm up.
Registration for all heats is at 9am Saturday morning at the Funsport shop in Rhosneigr, North Wales. Lunch, goody bag and evening entertainment is provided as part of the entry fee.
