WORLD TANDEM GEMINI COMPETITION

The Grand Pavois 1st WORLD TANDEM Gemini Competition will be held at La Rochelle, France, on September 21-23 alongside the international boat show Le Grand Pavois de La Rochelle.

IT’S NOW A REALITY: This will be the first inaugural World Tandem Gemini Competition! Racing will be competed on the Gemini Tandem – the new board that is making one of the greatest “buzzes” in the history of windsurfing. Envisioned by the pioneer of windsurfing Jim Drake, the Gemini is the board for friends, couples and colleagues together. Paired together, windsurfing together, the tandem Gemini is for everybody aged 7 – 77 years and above, get ready for speeds of 1 to 30knots and more!

The event will be organised by the Grand Pavois Organisation, the same organizers behind the ever successful “Grand Pavois of La Rochelle.” It is one of the biggest floating boat shows in the world. This will also be one of the first events in the new windsurfing season where everybody will be able to discover all new ranges of all the great brands.

TOTAL RACE! When the Grand Pavois Organisation first saw the Gemini, they understood immediately that racing in tandem can develop into an important category in the future, as important as other categories in windsurfing. They have agreed to offer their support as they do at other great windsurfing events, ie Slalom, Formula and Wave disciplines. Under the responsibility of the always efficient Centre Nautique d’Angoulins, and the observation of the FFV (French Sailing Federation), the three day event will see the best teams in the world receiving the opportunity to battle on the water under real racing conditions. Everybody has a chance! From high level professionals to teams with your best friend, your girl friend, your children… any pair that can be imagined! With two months to go before the event, there’s still plenty of time to train and prepare.

TOTAL FUN TOO! During the three days riders will experience a new dimension of windsurfing and racing like never before! Gemini sailors in tandem flying down the course grinning from ear to ear and laughing at each other’s maneuvers. During the three days, riders will be part of a huge festival in one of the greatest boat show in Europe, so there will be not shortage of spectators to enjoy the fun.

If you’re coming from far away, you will only need to bring your rigs with you as Gemini Tandems will be available for rent at the event. To ensure you have a board available, please make your reservation as soon as possible.
