This is a really nice idea, the brain child of Lars Pedersen. Download the
two video clips (Quicktime, Media Player or MPEG), and check them out. The action
takes place at the top Danish wavesailing spot of Klitmoller – it’s side-on-shore
wind with 30 knots and 2-3m waves. The competitors were allowed to change boards
and sails during their heats. Heat duration: 7 min. with one man on the water
at the time, starting with Lars, then rotating to Finn. All repeated 3 times,
so the Camera recorded a total of 21 minutes for each rider. Each rider was
then allowed to choose 1 minute out of his recorded material. He determines
the editing of his movie, so he is able to select the moves he thinks will be
the best for his result. No special effects were allowed except slow motion.
Repeats of moves are also not allowed, nor editing of moves in a way where it
looks like they are landed while in reality they are not.
