SUFFOLK ‘SPORTS PERSONALITY of the YEAR’ NOMINATION FOR KEITH ATKINSON

Keith Atkinson, current triple British Formula windsurfing champion, has been nominated and short listed for the ‘Suffolk Coastal District’ annual ‘Sports Personality of the Year’ award.

Keith moved his base to Felixstowe almost a year ago and has already made his mark in the region by being the driving force behind XTREMEFEST 2007, Felixstowe’s first extreme sports event. His aim was to target the area’s youth with the object of channelling their energies into sport and away from the less welcome temptations that they are today exposed to.

Despite a severe injury during the early part of the 2007 competitive windsurfing season he still managed to complete the ‘UKWA Triple’ by taking all three ‘Blue Ribbon’ Formula titles for the second year in succession, taking his total to a record nine British Formula titles.

The Suffolk Coastal awards evening will be held in the Seckford Theatre Woodbridge on the 24th February.
