UKWA 2008 Wave Final
West Wittering
1st and 2nd November
For the second year running, the UKWA wave final will be at West Wittering. Last year’s event was a huge success and this year’s promises to be even better.
As well as valuable points for the Pro fleet, the Amateur, Master, Junior and Youth fleets promise to be very competitive with a particularly active local contingent taking part!
The event sponsors: Ezzy, Dakine, Atan and Chinook have all donated some great prizes – and there will be FREE coaching from John Hibbard for all competitors.
Registration for all fleets is at West Wittering Windsurf Club at 9.30am on Saturday 1st November. Entry forms are now available to download from http://www.2xs.co.uk/PDF/UKWA_Final_08_Entry.pdf Email [email protected] and we will send you out an entry form as soon as they are ready.
Entry fees are as follows:
Pro £45
Amateur/Masters £40
Youth/Junior £25
All competitors must either be UKWA members (see http://ukwindsurfing.com/information/about-ukwa/membership/) or pay a one-off £10 charge.
The West Wittering Estate parking charge is £2 for each day (be sure to have the change as the nearest cash point is in East Wittering village!)
On Saturday night from 7pm, there is a reduced price menu for Competitors at the Crown and Anchor in Dell Quay (about 2 miles from the event site). See http://uk.multimap.com/p/browse.cgi?pc=PO207EE for a map.
Registration will now open from 9am.
Most Improved Wave Sailor 2008: This award is voted for by the wave fleet. Every sailor who has entered at least one event this season is eligible to vote. They can vote for ONE sailor only who must also have competed this year. That sailor can be from any fleet. You can’t vote for yourself. Louise Emery will be collecting votes over the weekend. The winner will be announced on Sunday 2nd November and receive an original Dave Gayda painting of Brandon Bay. They will also be awarded the trophy at the UKWA End of Season Ball in Weymouth on 15th November.
