“We’re making a return to this fabulous isle because … Well why wouldn’t we? The conditions are excellent for a variety of levels. Images from the ’07 PWA event revealed that it had waves that make ‘Jaws’ look like the reservoir. However, the bay of Saint Maria where we stay has glorious flat freeride conditions as well as perfect introductory riding and jumping waves. The mix of Africa and Portugal produce a relaxed, friendly, unique viibe. The bars and restaurants are very cool and excellent value. Better still is that this year we’ve got an excellent deal from the Morabeza Hotel which is comfortably the best gig in town right on the beach and understatedly classy.”
