National Windsurfing Week organisers are delighted to announce the re-launch of the National Windsurfing Week 2009

After the press release to cancel the campaign was released early in March, the organisers of National Windsurfing Week were contacted by many individuals and organisations from within the windsurfing Industry. People were disappointed, but there was an underlying message of support; everyone wanted to know what they could do to reverse our decision and make National Windsurfing Week 2009 happen!

Earlier this week we attended a meeting with a number of industry professionals and are delighted to announce that, like a Phoenix, National Windsurfing Week 2009 has risen from the ashes and will take place between the 2nd and 10th of May 2009 as originally planned

This leaves little time for the campaign to be arranged and promoted, but lots of effort has already gone into the Sunrise to Sunset event which makes a fantastic flagship event to launch the week. We encourage everyone to register for the Sunrise to Sunset event and get on the water on Sunday May 3rd. Their website can be found at http://www.sunrisesunset.ws/ssindex.htm

National Windsurfing Week posters, case studies and guidelines are currently being designed and will be distributed shortly. Our Website is back online and will be updated in the next few days. Any schools, shops, distributors or manufacturers should register their event via the website or by sending an e-mail to [email protected]

In addition to the support for 2009, the windsurfing industry has also pledged their commitment to National Windsurfing Week 2010. The first meeting to discuss the 2010 campaign will take place in June 2009. Starting this early with lots of additional help and resources will allow us to grow and grow!

We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their support and encouragement, see you on the water very soon!
