RYA SAILBOAT AND WINDSURF SHOW BURSTS ITS SEAMS!
The annual RYA Sailboat and Windsurf Show at London’s Alexandra Palace has
finally burst its seams and is expanding into a new semi-permanent structure
at the venue, to be known, for the Show, as the Panorama Hall.
The Show is in its 52nd year and is Britain’s biggest Show dedicated to
racing sailboats, recreational dinghy sailing and windsurfing.
The Panorama Hall, with its stunning views over London, will feature a brand
new RYA Forum area with live talks on topical issues, an RYA café and
over
400 square metres of available space for exhibitors.
The Sailboat and Windsurf Show takes place on 1 and 2 March 2003. Other new
features for 2003 include ‘Live it’ – a unique photographic exhibition by
some of the country’s leading marine photographers. Gybe Zone – chats,
games, competitions and entertainment for the under 16’s and Palm Court
Talks – experts on sailing and windsurfing providing red hot tips for all.
Commenting on the expansion Show Manager Jenny Curry said "This is a very
welcome move for the Show. For several years we have had a waiting list of
exhibitors and this additional Hall will allow to accommodate those on the
list and more!"

Notes to editors
* The Sailboat and Windsurf Show is organised by the RYA in
association with the Daily Telegraph supported by Yachts and Yachting.
* The Royal Yachting Association (RYA) is the national governing body
for all forms of sailing, windsurfing, and powerboat racing. Sailing is the
most successful Olympic sport in this country and Great Britain is the
world’s top Olympic sailing nation.
*
* The RYA is recognised by all government offices as being the
negotiating body for the activities it represents. It continually fights for
the rights and freedoms of its 98,000 personal members, the majority of whom
choose to go afloat for purely recreational non-competitive pleasure on
coastal and inland waters. It represents a further estimated 500,000 boat
owners nationally through its 1600 affiliated clubs and boat owner
associations.
*
* The RYA also sets and maintains a recognised standard for
recreational boat training through a network of 1500 independently operated
training facilities. Over 120,000 people per year voluntarily complete RYA
training courses.
The RYA is committed to promoting all forms of boating and making them
accessible to everyone. For more information please refer to our web site
