Adam Lewis Talks Doubles…

The 4th placed Brit in this years BWA wave tour sets a new low as he discusses taking on doubles whilst riding black. Don’t believe us? Then check the Point-7 interview below…

Black Rider Adam Lewis was spotted nailing some big double-forwards in Tenerife over the weekend. We caught up with Adam to ask him some questions on the manoeuvre.

How was it the first time you tried?
The first time I tried one was maybe two years ago. I was sailing with some friends and they had all just started to back loop and I kept crashing. I was really pissed! So I came to the inside, got a good gust as I started to head out and I was thinking of a good friend Bart David who had been doing them for years – he had always said do a planing loop and then just do another! I knew I had the guys following behind me so when a ramp came I just did one loop and like he said did the other. I was a bit of a blur but I landed and sailed away a little shocked!! It was a while before I tried another though!!

An over rotation of a normal forward? Scary?
No it really is doing two loops, I really concentrate on sheeting in twice. The first one of a session used to be scary now they are good fun!!

Does it still feel like the first time when going for the double? Or are you just not happy if you don’t land it perfect?
Yeah, I think now I still really like the feeling, but now if I don’t land quite right I’m a bit annoyed. It’s all learning; the more you crash the more you learn too I guess!

Triples?
Hmmm I over rotated on a double the other day on a really small ramp. I over did it because I wasn’t expecting to go so high so for sure they are possible, my bet would be on Köster!!
