“To make the programme work, we need to run a successful pilot. As such, we are looking for up to 12 strong candidates who are able to commit to nine weeks of delivery at UKSA. They need to be aged 19-24 and ideally have an entry level ability in English and Maths.
“There will be some classroom work and theory related to the course, so our recruits will need to be dedicated and keen to learn. In return they will receive several highly desirable instructor certificates such as RYA Dinghy Instructor, RYA Windsurf Instructor, BCU Kayak Coach and BSUPA Stand Up Paddleboard Instructor – that’s four different disciplines.
“They should also get their Powerboat Level 2, First Aid and their VHF Radio Licence. It is a huge deal for any individual and will make for a fantastic CV.”
If you are unsure and want to know a little more there will be an Open Day at UKSA on April 12 to explain the programme. Selection Day is compulsory and is on April 26th.
