Dave ‘Vinnie’ Standing reports from the third round of BSA slalom at Poole last weekend… All photos by Vinnie.
On the 8th and 9th May,BSA tour rolled into Poole for round 3 of the national championship. The event hosted by Neil Pryde/JP and FC Watersports was held at the very picturesque Branskome Chine. Three fleets of racing was planned for the pro fleet, amauter fleet and the masterblasters.
On Saturday the wind failed to build from a light north-easterly and all fleets were held on the beach hoping that the wind would build enough for some racing. In the afternoon Jamie Hawkins held a rigging and board clinic on the beach for all those wanting to improve their general racing.
Sunday brought with it more wind. There was not enough for championship racing, but 3 masterblasts were held for all fleets racing 1 mile out from the beach to the mark. A prize giving was held on Sunday afternoon with Pryde Group giving out lots of prizes for some of those that took part.
The British Slalom Tour moves on to Wales next month with round 4 on the 19th & 20th June in Aberdovey, hosted by Boardwise.
