The Blue Climate and Oceans Project launch two new clothing designs on World Oceans Day…
The Blue Hurricane is designed to show one of nature’s most powerful storms. The Hurricane, also known as a typhoon, tropical storm, cyclonic storm, tropical depression or simply a cyclone is a system with sustained winds of at 64 knots or 74 miles per hour. In the north Atlantic, the Hurricane season starts in June and continues until September. It is therefore fitting that the very first design from The Blue Project coincides with both World Oceans Day and the start of the 2010 Hurricane Season.
The Blue Collage is designed to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Jacques-Yves Cousteau, a French naval officer, explorer, ecologist, filmmaker, innovator, scientist, photographer, author and researcher who studied the sea and all forms of life in water. Cousteau co-developed the aqua-lung, which brought the wonders of the sea to the masses. Cousteau’s legacy for both diving and the oceans is captured in the Collage design which reveals the intimate link between sport and the environment which is so important to many people who love to enjoy the sea.
Both the Blue Hurricane and the Blue Collage T-shirts are made from 100% organic cotton and are available from www.theblueproject.org
