Unfortunately the BSA has been cancelled this weekend due to a poor forecast, all is explained below and find out more from the OTC here.
It is never an easy decision to cancel an event, but after 3 non-events this season, we think it only fair on the UKWA organisers and most importantly the riders to call this event and let everyone enjoy the weather this weekend rather than being frustrated! Here is the explanation from Chris Martin, owner of Agent 8:
“Dear BSA Slalom Sailors, regrettably we would like to inform you that the BSA Slalom No 6 event at the OTC will be cancelled due to lack of conditions. We have been monitoring the wind and weather over the last few weeks and recently the forecast hasn’t changed; in fact it’s become worse. As you know events at the OTC normally deliver every time, but even the wind machine in Weymouth needs a rest! So myself and Tris would like to move our supported event to the Slalom 8, the weekend after Weymouth’s Speed Week, the 25/26th of October. We will have all the new 2015 JP Australia and Neil Pryde windsurfing demo kit on hand for riders to use and test, and fingers crossed the wind will be back for the final event of the year.
“The BSA represents windsurfing in its purest form. No matter what your ability, the kit you use or the discipline you specialise in, everyone can relate to the exhilaration of blasting back and forth, trying to squeeze that extra bit of juice out of your kit whilst racing your mates. At an event you choose a fleet to join depending on your ability, and blast around a simple course, trying to get to the finish the quickest! We hope you will join us and the OTC for the final battle of the harbour at the BSA’s ultimate event for the 2014 season.See you on the water!”
