Point-7 dominated the first stop on the Italian Slalom Tour in Andora. What better confirmation to the brand and all those who have chosen the AC-1 2K11 as their drag engines for this season, to confirm the performance of the new sails? Malte Reuscher, our young rising slalom sailor took complete control of the event and with his 2K11′s secured first place in all three completed races.
Malte Reuscher: “I had no expectations as to how the outcome would be from this first stage of the Italian Tour Slalom. I had only just received my new boards and sails a couple of days earlier so no time to get acquainted with the gear or to get it tuned in. In the first heat of the event, I realized that I was fast very fast in comparison to the other riders, and that the new gear was really delivering all the goods. I focused on maximising the potential of my gear, but I was still surprised with the victory. As I am still in school I couldn’t spend winter going away to train with people my own level, so I hadn’t had any chance to check my form up till the event. But what better results to get than kicking off a season like this! I want to build on this first win, so now it’s time to get my gear tuned to perfection and focus on the next event! This season I plan to do the PWA, the Italian nationals and also some formula events throughout Europe”.
Point-7 Captain Andrea Cucchi: “We congratulate Malte with this win. We knew that the sails were very fast from the time we spent developing them with the team and sail makers. Malte instantly managed to get the best out of his new AC-1 sails and stayed fully concentrated throughout the race to win all the finals. After earlier having receiving positive feedback on the top-end performance of the smaller AC-1 sizes done on GPS speedsailing with both Pascal Toselli and Martin Van Meurs, we now also have confirmation that the larger sizes in their range give us a great advantage for the 2011 season, which has only just started!”
