PWA Fuerte 2011 – Slalom Highlights

Watch the best of the racing from PWA Fuerteventura 2011 as Antoine Albeau (F-192) wins the Slalom Grand Slam. A thrilling final in Fuerteventura: The decision ‘who is the winner of this year’ came in the very last race. Antoine Albeau from France (F-192) or his countryman Cyril Moussilmani (F-71). In one of the first heats Antoine Albeau suffered from a broken mast. This new situation offered Cyril Moussilmani the chance to turn the page and make a bigger advantage than 0,1 points. Until the final, everything was great but Cyril Moussilmani had some problems with the jibes and could not catch up Björn Dunkerbeck (SUI-11), Finian Maynard (KV-11) and Ben van der Steen (NED-57). Cyril got the fourth place in the last race and finished on the 2nd place in the Fuerteventura overall ranking. Antoine Albeau could only follow the action from the beach due to his equipment failure – but with Björn Dunkerbeck winning the last race, he was pushed back into the 1st position overall.

Behind the two French surfers, Ben van der Steen (NED-57) from the Netherlands is on place three in the overall ranking. Björn Dunkerbeck has taken the fourth place overall. The hunt for the world champion title is not over. There are still two other spots to go for the PWA fleet. In Alacati, Turkey and Sylt, Germany the champions Albeau and Dunkerbeck will fight for the title. Dunkerbeck only needs one other event win to win the Worldcup. Albeau would need to win both events.
