Tomorrow sees the RS:X Class European Championships starting on Madeira Island in Portugal.
February 22nd will see the fleets of 56 men and 23 women take to the racecourse to battle it out for the title of European champion. Representing the UK are 8 competitors, including Connor Bainbridge and Sam Sills in the Mens Fleet and Izzy Hamilton in the Womens’. Competition is scheduled to start tomorrow and run until March the 1st.
The forecast is looking good for the next 5 days with force 4-5 winds on the cards, hopefully the conditions will deliver and allow the sailors
to put on a good show.
The regatta is the final chance for competitors to get practise in before the World Championships take place in Cadiz on the 20th March. The World Championships have ben given an extra boost this year with $45,000 of prize money from Neil Pryde.
Best of luck to all those sailing – you can keep up to speed with all the action HERE.
