Sarah Hebert abandons Transatlantic Challenge

Rough seas and health issues force Sarah to stop…

In her attempt to become the first woman to cross the Atlantic by windsurf board, Sarah Hebert planned to sail from Senegal to Guadaloupe.  Nearly two weeks into the 4000KM challenge she has, unfortunately, had to call a stop to the proceedings. After battling against 5-metre swells, awkward wind directions and much stronger winds than anticipated, Sarah began feeling extremely tired, weak and dizzy.

The decision to put her health first was enforced by her support team who will now sail with Sarah aboard the support boat to the Caribbean.
