In an attempt to keep up with the fast moving pace of freestyle windsurfing, Trevor has announced that the UK will have an official Tow-In Freestyle Tour running alongside the expanded UKWA Freestyle Tour. The first event is to take place at this weekends freestyle event in West Kirby.

The first round for the year falls just a couple of weeks before the opening event of the PWA and EFPT in Austria. With potential Tow-In prize money up for grabs from both of the international governing bodies it will be a good opportunity for the five UK entrants to get some much needed practice in. Especially as the EFPT will be holding the first ever official European Tow-In Championships. Supported by Cheimsee there will be €5000 up for grabs!

As the times move forwards it is encouraging to see the UK lead the charge as Tow-In windsurfing begins to fall more into the limelight. The question is, should this be the way forwards, is it a positive thing for the sport or will it just fade away like an 80’s boy band? Discuss in the comments below…
