Jem Hall – Moves That Matter

Pull the trigger and feel the release – Photo, Sue Winston

Looping – if you want it then do it. Don’t talk about it too much – just find out what you need to do, commit to it, find some like-minded loons and enjoy the journey. I will be here to guide you of course. There is do or do not, there is no try and all that Yoda mumbo jumbo.

Waveriding – this is the best fun you can have ever! Either with or without a rig in planing and non-planing winds and on big (windSUPS) or small boards (fsws, freemoves, wave boards – whatever).

Sliding – if you’re ready for a bone crunching assault and hours of psychological torture, then there is simply such a rewarding and unique feeling to finally accomplishing sliding backwards on the nose of your board in a vulcan, grubby, willy skipper or flaka. Freestylers, I do apologise for the old skool moves I’ve named, and yes we should all be burnering and boinging ourselves into oblivion, but hey – we got to walk first!
