We were delighted to receive this picture of Jace Panebianco out sailing at Sprecks (Maui) on a radical-looking new long board, as it indicates that other brands are working along similar lines to Exocet’s innovative ‘Kona’ all-round long board, released earlier this year. It would appear that Tabou (also French – their designers maybe drink in the same pub?) are about to launch their new ‘Windstyler’ long board in the next few weeks. Details are still sketchy at the moment, but going by what we can see in the picture it certainly appears to be of a similar concept, in that it’s long but has a bevelled underside to make it feel smaller when planing, and has a daggerboard.
Great news – we can’t wait to try one, and will bring you the full test as soon as we can!
