It has been an epic year for the SWA Wave Series. With two firing events run already at The Bluff and Rhosneigr, it all boils down to the grand finale in South Wales on 11-13th March to decide who will become student wave champion! Cardiff University will host the event, featuring a Disney/Pixar themed party on the Saturday night.
As things stand there are three sailors in contention for the overall series win. Leading the pack is Matt Cox of Plymouth university. Tied for second place and less than a point behind are Tom Bennett-Lloyd of Bango, and Sara Kellett of UWE. With scores this close we have a ‘winner takes all’ situation. Whoever finishes highest at the final event out of these three will be champion! With so much to play for, the competition promises to be explosive as these three throw everything at it in the name of victory. Adding to the tension, Tom and Matt both graduate this year so Cardiff will be their last chance to win the Wave Series.
