After an amazing full 2 rounds of competition on the saturday myself and Bucky from Funsport decided to add some more excitement to the weekend!  We called the students in and selected the top group of riders from the comp to enter an ‘all out Expression Session’ on the sunday afternoon with the best waves at ouching tide.  Conditions were looking solid with building swell and would challenge the best of them…….naturally they were super keen and ready to go!!

Sunday morning saw the winds hammer in and swell getting up to logo high producing some solid ramps in typical Rhosneigr style!  These were not for the faint hearted as one fall could mean a big swim in – it was go big or go home!!

All of the riders got stuck in and smashed out big airs, trying moves and going bigger than they would in the comp – it was an amazing display of skills and sheer determination from every rider to push their limits.

From the off Ben Page was keen to put his stamp on after watching from the judging booth then day before…….and that’s just what he did, totally dominating the session and giving it everything he has got on his new kit from JP/Pryde.  This made Ben the standout winner for Judges Dave Buckalnd and Jill Tye.

Competition winner Louis Morris, Sara Kellett and Tom Pidden all stood out but the special award for ‘man of the Match’ went to Matt Cox who really showed how far he has come on across the comps delivering some of his best action yet!!

Tom Pidden went all out and lost his kit a few times in the mix…….after one hell of a journey back in, with no break in determination……he was awarded the Golden Goggles for best swim!

Bucky Funsport – “It was just amazing to see the level of Student windsurfing this weekend, they have come on so much since last years comp and some of these guys must be the future of British Wavesailing”
