30 knot winds and rain squalls whipped across Hookipa Beach Park on day 2 of the Jeep Hawaii Pro. The windsurfers put on a spectacular show in the stormy conditions today as the wave sailors got down to business. By the end of the day we were down to the last 16 sailors. Tomorrow is shaping up to be an epic day of action, the forecast is looking good and there is a small North West swell on the way.
The highest score for today was by Levi Siver (Starboard) as he ripped his way through to the last 16. Levi is on fire and the judges rewarded his radical style and fluidity, pulling off 3 perfect aerial 360’s in his last heat of the day. Also another young gun Alex Mussollini (Neilpryde, JP) showed he is one to watch out for, the young Spanish sailor showed flair and style – pulling off tweaked back loops with ease.
So the stage been set set; the forecast looks good. The women will be up first tomorrow at 10.30 am followed by the top 16 men.
