SAM IS WELL CONNECTED!

Dorset-based French Connection Watersports, better known as FCWatersports, is pleased to announce a new team rider, Sam Neal K951.

Sam has maintained strong links with Poole’s 25 year established watersports retailer for many years. The 17 year old is a dedicated wave and freestyle sailor, who regularly competes on the UKWA freewave scene. He counts among his successes the First National Series Winner in the Techno Formula Fleet, First National Junior Freewave Champion and, at the time, was the youngest European sailor to take part in a PWA Freestyle event. As he moves through the fleets his aim is to be a full time Pro.  

The sponsorship role will evolve to support the highly acclaimed FCWatersports with coaching, freestyle and teaching a range of windsurfing skills.

FCWatersports is a major reseller of JP Australia and NeilPryde in the South West and has become the UK’s first official Test Centre. Sam, already a National JP/ NeilPryde team rider, is set to be an impressive ambassador.  Commenting on Sam’s introduction to the team, Director at FCWatersports, Gary Willingham said,

“We welcome the opportunity to nurture youthful talent coming through the ranks of contemporary windsurfing. Sam epitomises all that is still very vibrant in windsurfing and he will be an inspiration to those he coaches. He has a long way to go yet competitively and we will endeavour to support him in every way as he progresses through the championships.”

Sam says ”As a seven year old, it was on Poole Harbour that I first got to plane…..although at the time I was too small to turn the board and rig around so had to walk back! I am really pleased to be onboard with Gary and the FC Team – they really offer fantastic facilities to learn at any level, from beginner to anyone wanting to nail those sick moves.”

Sam, who is also sponsored by JP, NeilPryde, Pryde UK, and Animal, starts the new year training in El Medano in preparation for a testing but exciting, season.
