Turfdog – How To Improve Your Moves On Land

Want to improve your windsurfing skills on land when the conditions don’t cooperate? The Turfdog could be just what you need. Here’s a quick run down of exactly what the Turfdog is and how to do two great windsurfing moves on the land board: the gybe and the flaka.

What is Turfdog?

Turfdog is the number-one land-board specifically designed to simulate windsurfing. The board was designed with a fixed rear truck and a pivoting caster system at the front of the board. This allows the board to respond to pressure o the UJ in a similar way to a windsurfing board on the water.

Why get one?

The boards are incredibly versatile, and can be used to learn anything from basic rig handling and board control to advanced freestyle moves.

You can use them on tarmac, short grass or compact sand; from 2-20 knots. Typically you need a smaller sale than you would windsurfing, for example 10-15 knots requires a 3.7-4.0m sail. Most importantly you will keep your body used to windsurfing when you can’t get on the water.

How?

You can also learn new moves on land with the Turfdog, here we are joined by some pro coaches to share their wisdom on how to learn to gybe and flaka on the Turfdog.
