Daida Moreno and Nik Baker have taken today’s indoor slalom final, but not without a fight from Iballa Moreno and Ricardo Campello respectively…

The women’s final saw some really clean gybing from the Moreno sisters, Daida taking the first of 3 races, Iballa clawing back the second only for Daida to dominate the 3rd. Meanwhile the men’s final of Baker vs Campello saw some extraordinarily close racing, with Ricardo nosing in front on several occasions. But, having narrowly won the first race, Nik was having none of it and gybed right over Campello who had fallen while trying to sneak inside the 2nd mark. So 2-0 to Nik, but Campello’s showing great boardspeed and could be a real threat tomorrow…

3rd / 4th play-offs were Nayra Alonso vs Junko Nagoshi in the women’s (Nayra by 2 pool-lengths then 2 board-lengths) and Jose ‘Gollito’ Estredo vs Josh Angulo in the men’s (Angulo powered the first race, Gollito snuck through in the second, and took the 3rd after the lead changed twice.)
